Studieren, aber was? (study - but what?)

Workshops to aid decision-making

What do I actually want to study? What suits me? What do I enjoy? What skills do I have? What do I want to do later on? And how do I find my way through the wide variety of options available?

The one-day decision-making workshop "Studieren, aber was?" (study - but what?) is aimed at prospective students asking themselves these questions. The workshop helps those who have not yet made a decision on what to study and is especially suited to participants who know that they want to go to university, but are not yet sure what exactly they want to study.

Study - but what?   Study - but what?

For a start, participants consider key issues about their individual profiles. They learn to find out things about themselves, to recognise their own skills, strengths and interests and to use this as the basis for determining their personal goals.

In the afternoon, participants are given information on various fields of study and tips on how to find their way through the maze of possible study choices. Together they work out how to tackle a systematic and structured information search and select areas of study that suit them from the multitude of degree programmes available. Participants also gain an insight into Kiel University and its opportunities for study. There is information on the topics of application, registration and allocating places. Finally, the workshop defines the next steps to be planned and taken on the way to becoming a student.

Taking part in a workshop is free of charge and they are held in german and approximately twice a month (see below for dates). Appointments for groups or school classes can be arranged by request.
